Good job dude (and many happy returns too!)
I cleaned mine on Sunday - washed using 2BM, dried and polished, then a coat of wax (collinite 215) and a final buff to a lovely shine - 3.5 hours work and serious pain in the hands and shoulders but well worth it - she looks so pretty! http://www.flickr.com/photos/103875560@N03/10838077605/
Yep. Clay bar helps remove all the tiny dirt particles stuck to the car and gives the bodywork a super smooth feel.
Try this, go outside and run your hand over the bonnet. Hear that subtle rasping noise, that is the tiny particles I mentioned. Now try the same trick after you had a go with a Clay Bar and you'll get no noise at all because the surface is now super clean.
Damn more work lol but tomorrow is set aside for taking wheels off and cleaning inside and out then seal
