  • ds3 2015 thp

Seen somthing on face book about the new 2015 ds3 with a revamped tho engine with more fuel pressure and a tweaked turbo... Does any one know if the design flaws would be the same with this engine or know if Citroen would have done somthing to cure the piston failure and carbon build up as article says more power... I'm guessing if faults are the same more power means reliability of a very poor engine has managed to been made worse?

Does anyone know about the reliability of the 208 gti? Thats a thp 200 and not heard of people having problems like with the ds3r. Dont see many 208 gti's around though tbh

My thoughts are that the current 150 unit will be replace with the new 130 unit or a variation of it.

Because first the DS3R Engine is just a "tuned" THP 150 and second the THP 200 has some details that the normal THP 150 don't have. But the THP 200 has the same problems as the THP 155 with the sticky valves, because it is also have direct injection and exhaust gas recirculation.

No, the new PureTech 110 (3 cylinder turbo engine) replace the VTi 120 and the "new" THP 165 will replace the THP 155. But the new THP 165 is just a THP155 with a Start-Stop system to be an Euro 6 engine.

Im sure i heard some of the latest direct injection engines have a method of occasionally injecting petrol on the valve to keep it clean, or something like that. Or did i dream this [emoji3]

The DS4, DS5, C5 (THP200) and the Mini Cooper JCW (N14 & N18) all have problems with carbon build up...

That would be the last update to their GDI engine the earlier ones had the same carbon on the valves problem as everyone else.
