Lol yeah! Example of a badly applied handbrake. Please remember this was not me and I was stuck unable to unlock it. All I wanted was a sandwich

Mine do that, nowt to worry about, although the ds3 does so the worst of all my cars ever owned!
If you have to pull the handbrake up that high to secure the car, it's time to replace the cables!

Both our cars do it, cars with discs all round seem to be especially prone as they have small rear drum only for the handbrake, so moisture that collects isn't dried out like it would be on a car where the rear drums also stop the car and sticks the shoes to the drum.

Edit: not looked at the rear brakes on the DS3...I assume it uses a small drum as many do but it may be the rear calipers oxidising onto the discs, although I'd expect to see marks on the disc if that was the case at least until the next big stop.

DS3s don't have a rear parking brake drum. Most cars with rear disc brakes have the parking brake built into the caliper, the use of a separate drum brake system being the exception rather than the rule.

Our DS3 & DS4 both have the sticky brakes even the garage mentioned this about the brakes when we bought the DS3 the other week, the sticky brakes are playing
havoc on the 4 at the moment sending a fault to the parking sensors had them changed three weeks ago too because of this. Seems worse when cold or had cleaned
the car and parked in the garage overnight.
