Why would a driving school car be a bad thing? How old is it? 27k isn't much for a driving school car.... Mines done nearly double that in 2 years! It's always regularly serviced too

Unless it's actually broken I'm not entirely sure what you expect. It hasn't deteriorated since you bought it, it is the car you or your other half bought. Tbf I've seen 3 year old ex driving school cars with 100k on, you might have a bit more clutch wear than your average motor but otherwise it'll be no better or worse than your average used car. If anything probably better looked after as someones lively hood depended on it.

There are worse things to find out...for example my last car was ex-learner which you could tell (scratched roof from the unit quite a lot a scuffs and dings) But that wasn't particularly annoying as it was like that when I bought it. Discovering it was damaged repaired despite being HPI clear was much more annoying.

To be fair to it though it lasted me 6 years and 61k miles, never missed a beat and was still on the original clutch when I sold it. I agree it's not ideal but I've seen many none learners drive far worse. At the end of the day independent driving instructors tend to have one car for business and pleasure and if they let their pupils beat it to death they aren't getting paid.

Maybe I'm an exceptional driving instructor, I take great care in my car, it gets driven properly by me, I teach my students to have mechanical sympathy. I have a protector on the roof so it doesn't get scratched by the headboard. My dealer chap said it's far better condition than most of the standard px's he sees. He said he wouldn't even need to touch it to put it on the forecourt for sale.
I think you might be being slightly over reactive.:-)

Define "noisy" if it's road noise being a driving school car would have nothing to do with it, if the engine revs aren't matching the road speed it may be you have a slipping clutch. If it's fresh out of the dealer then they should be interested in fixing that.
The log book depends on the previous owner, some register their cars to their businesses, some do not. At the end of the day it's a name on a piece of paper. Hell the if we ever saw the V5 for our DS3 I'm pretty sure the owner is VW uk as that is who we are leasing it from.

Sorry that you were not happy with your car after you bought it!

                            Did you test drive it?
Did you take a long look at it both inside and out to see any defects?
Did you ask the Dealer about it's history?

I'm sure if it's been a driving school car prior to you owning it, it would have been serviced regularly and maintained really well. Learners do tend to take everything steady, it won't have been ragged around and thrashed about.

Road noise doesn't come from poor care, and many owners have commented about how loud it can get on motorways.
