Like everything there are good and bad dealers, A friend of mine's C6 spent more time in Glasgow Citroen than he had it....... My local Dealer, is Lookers in Preston, I've heard several stories....... and none of them good, BCC well my brother works for them and I wouldn't take either of my Citroens there....... My preferred dealer is a family run operation in Chorley (Well, Eccleston) managed by 4 brothers who believe in good old fashioned customer service.

Experience with my C6 has taught me bitterly, that if you want a good dealer, you sometimes have to travel a little further.....

Good service is when they do what they say when they say and that minor irritations are ironed away without you finding out until you collect the car.

the ds3 I got from my citroen dealers it was my 3 car from them, I think it will be my last as the first ds3 was a ex driving school car, where they didn't say it was. I only found out when I got the log book back from d.v.l.a I took it back after I didn't mess about with words they give me a different ds3 I know why they didn't tell me it was a ex driving school car cos who the hell whats one of them that's been well used.....

Doing everything they say they'll do, helping out in tricky situations, just being interested in sorting problems out and doing it quickly.

Did you ask if it had been used as a driving school car? I suspect not. I would seriously PMSL if you bought my old car.... Because you would never have known! Having said that I might shed a tear because it probably won't be looked after as well by its next owner :-(

My local dealers are John Grose and the customer service and general care from them us probably the best service I've had anywhere pretty much. And not just in terms of cars but in terms of any company I've ever dealt with. They really make you feel welcomed and looked after. Even from little things like having a cuppa ready for you or giving you a little gift here and there.
My dad has dealt with their Ford side for years and never have their service levels dropped. Now I'm being looked after by the Citroën side in exactly the same way.
Also they are keen to develop new ideas and events like the DS Drive day where they get our club involved in organising a great day.
I know I must be very lucky but yeah, notall dealerships are bad.

                    Here we go again!

I had a green car once, it broke down so I went back to the dealer and told them like it was. Never bought a green car since and never will, they are rubbish!

I dunno but I think having my car in the dealership 5 times in less than 8 weeks to fix one faulty parking sensor is definitely not good service lol

Mines just hitting the 40k mark so popped in to my local citreon dealer and they want £175 for service / mot and £226 for major service , does it effect warranty if I use a friend of mine who has looked after my previous cars ?

Warranty will be voided if it isn't serviced by a dealership with genuine Citroen parts.

I didn't think that was the case anymore see this from the AA web site

Do I have to get my car serviced by a main dealer?

You are not obliged (since October 2003) to get the car serviced by a franchise dealer during the warranty period.

You must though get it serviced according to the manufacturer's recommended schedule and criteria using only manufacturer approved parts.

The legislation only applies to the part of the warranty offered by the manufacturer, i.e. insurance-backed extended warranties offered by dealers are not covered and may stipulate different conditions.

If you do get the car serviced outside the dealer network you must make sure it's done to the maker's recommended schedule and criteria using approved parts. You must also keep records so you can demonstrate to the manufacturer that servicing was undertaken to their requirements.

Nothing wrong with self service but bear in mind two things.

1.) Any Citroen dealer will have the power of warranty veto if they feel the work has not be done to standard which shoot the warranty through the foot.

2.) If you were looking at two used DS3s which were identical in age, mileage, price and colour but the only difference was one has a full dealer history and the other was self serviced, which would you buy?
