Still think it is wrong to try and penalize them after they were good about the whole thing and agreed to rectify their mistake without trying to wiggle out. Now if they had been pricks different story.

Kind have to side here with Cycles on this one, the dealership were quick and willing to sort this out for you and without any shouting and screaming. Squeezing them for more when a genuine mistake has been made just feels a little wrong in my mind.

Now if the dealership was being difficult over the matter then I would understand as you would be looking for redress for the hassle.

I get the feeling this is going to fall under your own 'Moral Compass' here

Well as their sales were £463.3 million last year with profits of £8.1 million I don't think they will lose any sleep in giving me a £50 Halfords gift card.

No. They may have made a cock up, but have tried their best to resolve :-)

Personally, I wouldn't be asking for any sort of compensation. It is their mistake but they have sorted it out. The description stated it had Bluetooth and it soon will. Once you've agreed on and accepted a solution (in this case, the fitting of a system), that's the end of it.

If they're as nice as you say they are, they might give you a little something extra anyway but they're not obliged to.

If they give you compo fair enough, like some of the others here I wouldn't have pursued it myself though

You now have what you paid for. Why do you believe you deserve extra? There is nothing to compensate you for, you have suffered no detriment.

If you go down the route of expecting compensation for inconvenience how will you feel if you are expected to compensate every person you cause inconvenience to from here on in?

I was very anti compo at the beginning, but atfter taking hers and Liams points on, I do think a bit more is deserved. It could bump the insurance premiums up by £50 a year, depending on the company and area.

Ok well they won't give anything compensation wise so I'm not going to become a pain in the arse and argue the toss with them. as long as the £200 cheque turns up for the cost of the bluetooth and fitting which I had to pay upfront I'll be happy,

Thanks for your comments and thoughts.
