How often are you all adjusting your temperature using this button ?
It is an odd one, our ds3 has every common fault going but not this one. You should be only really using the buttons to maybe drop or increase the temperature if conditions outside change significantly but just let the car sort it out otherwise.

I'd be surprised if the ones in ours got used weekly, the only one that gets regular use is the demist button but only in winter.

Don't think the fan speed button gets used ever or the one to direct air, otherwise what's the point in buying a car with climate control?

I agree, I turn the AC temp down in the spring (with the warmer weather and small adjustments on hot days) and then up again in early winter to around 22. I never touch the fan or vent controls....

I think it's all about how you use the controls I push & hold rather than constant pressing which will obviously wear it more & some people flick (rub)with their fingers which obviously wears even quicker

I rarely use the buttons for climate control. It's on 19.5 all the time in the colder months, a bit colder in warmer months. I let the car sort out how it get to that setting.

At least it's only single zone..

Dual zone allows the passenger to not only ruin the symmetry of your climate control display but set it to an odd number ending in .5

                      Climate Control Button: paint vanishing?

Sorry folks but I am not having "you're adjusting the temperature too frequently" as an excuse for this fault.

It's a blatant design fault; most other cars use rotary knobs for temperature control - and yes I'm talking about cars with climate control as opposed to manual air con.

We even had a Peugeot 307 with an older version of this system - same idea with push buttons as opposed to rotary knobs - but the paint never came off that in the 6 years we had it.

Have you spoken to your dealer about it yet?

I spoke to them about it 9 months ago when this first surfaced. They didn't really have an explanation other than 'wear and tear'.

Mine has just starting doing this on the air con increase button. I've only had it 15 months (pre reg so it's 21 months old).
