Just resurrecting this thread for a bit of advice.

My car sounded absolute death earlier, people could hear it from across the car park! It quietened down after it warmed up though. I think it was the timing chain.

I got home, checked the engine for sounds and after giving the throttle a little blip (The same blip i do to get the exhaust to pop) i could hear some metallic rattle coming from the turbo area. Reading online i'm just wondering whether it's the wastegate?

Do you think problems with the wastegate could also explain why my stock exhaust is popping? And why the exhaust splutters when idling?

As for the turbo, it does take 2 or so seconds to kick in but i think the power is there.

Sorry for the lack of description, i'll get some videos and post it on the "technical" sub when i can.

There are tonnes of videos of these online but it sounds relatively similar to this, though not as bad i don't think.

P.S; Reading online of all sorts of problems with these THP engines i don't think i've ever been so paranoid in my life haha! I could be imagining issues!
