I'm lucky enough to have both, type r for fun and the wifes ds3 for a run about, it's only the 120 dstyle but a great car all the same. You won't be disappointed but it not a patch on the R to drive, good luck with your choice!

The DS3 brought me to Citroen otherwise I wouldnt have bought French again I dont think. I would have liked the White edition to have been a limited run as it seems quite a popular choice. Dont want it to become a mini!
My dealer said they'd had a memo last Wednesday saying they'd be getting no more Whites in.

Welcome to the club. DS3R? Not sure about that! A lot of cash for another 3 BHP.

Thanks for all the hello's and positive feedback

We are going for a test drive on Sunday so hopefully i will get to see how the enginge and handling compares, i dont expect it to be as accomplished as the R but i do expect the engine to feel very good with all that extra torque!

Indeed, the lady handing my DS3 White over said she wouldn't be surprised if mine was the last one she saw going out.

Yeah woman at Citroen customer services told me the same but couldnt be sure if she knew her stuff, maybe its true then?
If thats the case then i am pleased as maybe it will hold its value as I think it will be a sort after car on the used market come time to sell?

I leased mine and walk away in 2 yrs anyway so it's not really a concern .

Hello! My other half and I are lucky in that we have a DS3 and Civic Type S GT so I might be able to help! The DS3 is very nice, as well built as the Civic with a better quality paint finish. I have driven both the THP and the Type R and to be honest the THP edges it for me as the power is more immediate. In terms of handling, the THP might not be quite as good BUT it does provide a smoother wide as the Civic can crash around a little. The DS3 is also better value to service, £199 for 3 years versus £750 for 4 years with Honda (although mine is the 2.2 iCDTi, a petrol is £500). I also found the Citroen and Honda sales teams to be equally as good.

Downsides to the DS3? Size, it's very small inside compared to the Civic despite the Civic not being much bigger. I'm not a fan of the black headlining as it makes it a tad claustrophobic. And the real killer...... The Citroen and the Honda are the same age and you can guess which one has been back for repairs..... surely nearly 2 weeks for a water pump is a bit excessive but then again after 4 days they tried to hand the car back with the fault clearly not fixed. Not only that but the Honda garage's service department is a dream to deal with with the service, very efficient!

So in summary, the DS3 is a great little car but I'm not sure about the reliability, or at least Citroen's ability to fix it. I'm not Honda bias either, before the Civic I owned 4 Saxo's, a Xsara, C2 and C4 but if you go into it accepting this then I think you're be very happy.

By the way, have you ever tried the iCDTi Civic (I hear there's a few left that are new)? It's got to be the quietest Diesel I've heard in a long time, I get 56mpg on a run also. Having said that, my Dad's C4 Airdream does 70+ mpg so maybe trying a diesel DS3's worth a go too!
