First tank just emptied in my BlueHDI 100 and the actual average calculated via Fuelly was 58.4 mpg. Can't recall right now exactly what the OBC was saying it was but it was pretty close.

Hope ours under reads by 40% it's currently showing 44mpg on a 90 e-hdi...which is pathetic.

I'm a fairly economical driver I think (not slow or obstructive I hasten to add). As it sounds like it's mainly your other half driving the DS3, if she's anything like mine she may benefit from some tips about anticipating slowing down and red lights turning green, easing off the throttle, avoiding braking, cancelling cruise early on, changing up as soon as the engine isn't labouring etc. The amount of fuel and money the average driver must burn just purely through wasteful driving style is crazy. Should be part of the driving test IMO (if it isn't already?)

A lot of it depends on driving style but also driving situations, I don't really pay a huge amount of attention to my MPG but because most of my miles are motorway based, I'm currently getting around 42mpg average from my THP.

I would assume with those low figures (for a diesel) that yours does mostly city driving?

When you meet your partners work colleagues for the first time at a function and you are on your best behaviour, then a bloke called Gerald asks you what MPG your car gets.

You be like "F**k off Gerald you boring tw*t".

The worst is "ohhh that's a fancy car, you must be doing well for yourself" yet they are driving something newer or that would have cost much more.
              It's a complement to the DS3 though I suppose.

I would agree and remind them there is a fortune to be made fighting global terrorism. "Oh you used to be in the Army did you?", "yes I did, now f**k off over there with Gerald, your as boring as he is".

Agreed. And in the city / town is also where I reckon the greatest potential to be a bit economical is without any impact on journey time or driving fun.

If She is anything like mine, My sex life would definitely benefit from keeping my mouth shut and accepting the lower mpg.

Maybe but 26 years and counting must be doing something right.

We live in the country, but she does treat the country lanes like her own tarmac rally..

                          However as below,

"Darling perhaps when coming back from a 12 hour shift at 7am you go slower" would end with various items being thrown.

Well that and with the same drivers at the wheel our old petrol micra got 42mpg.

Haha I know the feeling. I grew up driving country lanes and it's much more fun to rally drive them

I think I averaged around 25mpg last time I visited my mum.

I averaged 29mpg from a full tank in my THP. I think that was about £40-50 of fuel in about 260 miles haha.
