There was more to it than that BigFeet, it was as though they didn't want me there and the tone they took, along with a lack of knowledge.

I was enquiring about the retention or otherwise of the steering column controls when adding the dealer fitted USB box/mp3 adapter after selecting MyWay as an option. I mentioned about losing the USB slot from near the handbrake when adding MyWay and two guys (one whom folded his arms in a very defensive manner) said outright that is not the case. The tone the more authoritative gentleman (possible the manager), then took with me when it became clear I was not going to choose from what was in the showroom was awful. He then proceeded to tell me not to expect a PX price at today's rate as by the time my (apparently annoying) factory order came in, it would be less (I DON'T EVEN HAVE A PART EXCHANGE) -very presumptuous! From what I can gather you're in the industry and no doubt defensive of dealerships, but £1,500 over what I can source the vehicle at (albeit online) is a joke. My business is buying property and I don't even pay my solicitor that much for all the work he does searching/completing sales, so I'm certainly not going to pay a car dealer that much, moreover the rude/unhelpful ones.

I bought mine from Evans Halshaw Hull,my salesman Peter Scott was a really straight up bloke,I got £500 off the screen price and top price for my px without to much hassle and free mats.I know people have got better deals but I was happy with mine and thats what counts.Only had the car 3 dats so can't comment on after sales service yet.

Glad to see people are putting a positive twist on this thread...As for the dealership I bought my DS3 from...Well what can I say...The salesman was lush and I got special attention all the way

The dealership was Pedigreed Cars in Forres and they have a 100% customer satisfaction and they're 12month average is 92.8%

Thats fine, if you can buy it cheaper on the net then go ahead. In the trade we have different names for customers and you are the kind of guy who looks at the price, but I'm not going to get dragged into a debate about dealers and how things work within the trade. This time I'm going to keep my mouth shut, plus I've seen April PX numbers for DS3 and OUCH!!!!

I too don't want to debate this over and over, but I have read some of your previous posts and it seems you feel it justified to charge more than is necessary for an item because your knowledge has some worth -which I don't dispute- but it's certainly not worth over a grand! As another member pointed out before, you won't give me anymore come trade in time just because I overpaid from new.

I don't doubt your knowledge or service BigFeet, you seem genuinely enthusiastic about your profession, but the experiences I've had are woeful at best and dealers need to get real on what they're really worth.

If your looking for a good deal try CARFILE and speak to Jonathon, I paid £12897 for my white edition but i think there was a slight price rise at the end of Feb so now it is about £13k. The dealership he puts you intouch with is in Birmingham and they have been fantastic with me so far.
Just cos you buy off the net doesnt mean you get any less service than if you walk into a dealer yourself.

Also, Lincoln Advantage has in the past, a bad reputation! it used to be Lincoln COOP. My friend workds for renault there, but they are trying to turn the business around and seem to have some decent people working at Citroen now. You cant beat Toyota for customer service and satisfaction. They have been amazing with my Yaris over the last year and a bit.
Good Luck and never accept second best.

That was me lol, maybe us in Lincolnshire expect too much lol
OR........... maybe I am happy to know that when I leave the Citroen garage I used via the net, I will be £1500 better off than Joe Bloggs? Maybe that will soften the blow come next trade in time?

From what I have seen on here I do think Biggie is a credit to Citroen as he seems passionate about what he does and we need more like that, however, whether you think that is worth a premium is entirely up to you?

Just a heads up for anyone in the Lincolnshire/Humberside/East Riding area of the country to give a wide berth to Hartwell in Grimsby as well as Evans Halshaw in Hull. No, I have no current or former connection with either these or any other car dealerships, but the rudeness and unhelpfulness of the staff at both has prompted me to pass on my experiences. Both were fantastic at giving me a test drive, but don't know anything about the vehicles. Grimsby treated me like I was there to steal something because I went in a couple of nights after work to sit inside different models and make certain I was happy with a DS3 and in Hull they expect you to pay top price (only for what they have in there and then) after only a 10 minute drive -not gonna happen. I'm about to part with £18,000 of my own hard-earned cash and I expect more. When it became clear it was likely to be a factory order they told me to not expect any discount and I'd only get my PX price once the DS3 came in, not today...err, hello...I'd already said I wasn't PX'ing anything and was paying cash! They only wanted to sell me one of their stock. I'll be buying from the likes of Broadspeed for sure now.

Special mention to Naz in Hull, though, who whilst new, did his best to find answers to anything he didn't know.
Give Bristol Steet Motors Derby a go. I bought mine from there through a third party internet broker(with no fee involved I might add) and got a really good discount. I live north of York BTW.

i have bought my last 3 cars all from evans halshaw hull. agreed the service is poor and have complained several times in my 7 years of owning new citroens. i work for a prestige brand so no what should be expected. and is far from it at citroen hull. i was once told i couldnt have anymore warranty work done on my car because i didnt get it serviced with them! so off it went to the next closest citroen dealer. i also agree that they are very pushy towards you buying a car they have in stock. after all if your spending 17k on a car it should be to your exact spec! i did however get metallic paint space saver city signature and chrome mirrors all for free. funnily enough the salesman i dealt with is the same guy that told me i couldnt have any warranty done! they also no that i will be the worst customer on the planet if spec is wrong/damage etc. so im expecting a smooth handover! service side of the dealership is also poor not had any problems with workmanship, but why do dealers plonk robots with no idea of fault finding/ mechanicaln knowledge behind the desks.
and before you all tell me to go to another dealer, i do always seem to get a good dea,l price and part ex from them when coming to buy new.
