    That`s a great welcome!

I was also going to add that Classic Car Sunday is on Sunday 4th Sept at The Departure Lounge Cafe if you are into informal car gatherings and it starts at 2pm and has been pretty good so far this year.

      Hi JEZ,
Thanks for the info. I am more of the shy, retiring type and don't socialise much, if any, not at all really, truth be known. That's one reason that I went for the DS3 in a way, because it makes more of a statement than I ever could.
One thing I do need help with ( what do you mean you can think of lots of others), I can't for the life of me open the bloody bonnet. I checked the manual, I pulled the release lever in the cabin and the bonnet lifted slightly, but I have tried to locate the release catch under the bonnet and can't find it. Mind you I don't like putting my hand into dark places ever since my uncle Ernie told me to put my hand into his pocket, I was only 7 but even I knew pockets had bottoms to them, then again uncle Ernie came from Alton.

Had my ds3 for more than a month now and getting used to it. I can feel the car almost bonding to me when I get in, those wonderful leather seats really envelope you. Have pushed it a bit on some straights and can certainly feel the responsiveness promising much once the engine loosens up.
Has anyone got the proper 0-60, top speed figures? I know they are not conclusive but I am sick of reading in media reviews that 0-60 and top speed are only "claimed" or "on paper at least". I am asking for figures verified by members for the ds3 1.6 thp ultra prestige.
This car has brought a smile to my face whenever I get in it. It is a fun car, ride is good, holding on corners is good, pace and cruising are also good. I like the look of the car and don't think the styling is o. t .t.
At the moment I have an average of 40 mpg with mixed driving, bound to improve with more miles on the clock. Overall very pleased with my choice and looking forward to more miles ahead.
I am not going to map it or personalise it in any way, simply keep it original, let's face it , it doesn't exactly look boring to start with.

        Mike.
Just traded in a Nissan as 5 door no longer required. Nearly New DS3 purchased, 3 years old and almost 3k on the clock, Red Body/Black Roof 1.6 VVTI (Auto). only had it 2 weeks and drivers seat mechanism failed, Bummer-
new seat fitted by Citroen on Warranty, swirls caused by bad maintenance , mate (professional valeted Mopped and Quartz coating applied, looks the business, so back to driving, still trying to get used to the launch, it goes like a bullet. mid range is comfy although suspension is firm. handles great , best small 2 door I've owned , can't wait to get in it every day.

The second catch under the bonnet is a bit hard to find, my advice is pop the passenger door lever, then lift the bonnet as much as you can and look in with a torch (or sunlight if it's shining on the front) to see the release lever. It pushes from right to left, and is located slightly to the right of the centre.

Once you've found the lever, you may need to lower the bonnet a little to allow it to release. It is fiddly, and I still fumble around every time I try to open the bonnet, but practice will get you used to locating and operating the lever

Thanks Mike......I think Ben`s post ably describes how to release and open the bonnet. It is fiddly if you have not done so before. I can`t offer any advice on dodgy uncles from Alton however.

                  Thanks, BenS,
Will give that a go tomorrow. I new the little so and so was in there some where. The DS salesman opened it up no bother when showing me round, didn't want to go back there because I would have looked a right lemon.

Thanks JEZDS3, The catch on the C4 that was my previous car was "simples" compared to this one . Still if that's all I ever complain about this ds3 it won't be too bad .Love it!!!

Mike,I had a C4 HDI 110 before my DS3 and I loved that car, just needed to go due to age and high mileage. Citroens do have some quirky features though.
