I'm buying outright with cash, part of my pension lump sum. The car, my first new one in nearly 50 years of motoring, is my present to myself for surviving in the workplace for 45+ years.

Had my Audi 2 years of the 3 year deal and there was money when I gave it back. This was the deposit on the DS, plus £500 from Citroen. 3 year deal on this, £60 a month less than the Audi, I just want to keep my monthly down and get a good warranty and cheap servicing (£199 for three years). The DS was all about saving money, and it is!

i went for the 2 year deal on elect 3, exact same deposit as the 3 year deal and 200 a month.

Wish I could buy it outright, I work for the Police and my GF is a teacher for 10 years and still could not afford half the value of the car in cash. Dont think £14,000 cash for a car is worth it, its only worth half that after a few year.

If you have £14,000, you are best of putting that money aside and paying the deposit and monthly payments for a elect 2/3 and use all the money, get a new car every 2/3 years. No repair costs, warranty and its always a new car.Much better value for money.

Cash for me - I hate paying other people for the use of their money! In the past I've preferred to run an older (sometimes very old!) used car than borrow to buy a new one.

The 6.9% APR is quite good for the current market and very competitive against other manufacturers.

I don't plan on changing the car in 2 or 3 years (this will prolly be my last new car for awhile) and i just didn't fancy the pcp route the more i thought about it. It obviously suits some people but i'm happy with a personal loan and that's all that counts for me

I've got mine on a 40month finance agreement, @ 5.29% APR. I'll be paying £500 a month, though the first and last month are a bit more. This is on the 110 DSport and I didn't think I was paying too much interest. No way I could afford it upfront, wasn't even going to buy new, but the thought of reliability and getting exactly what I want swung me.

HP just doesn't feel right, I want to own my car at the end. I expect to keep it at least 5years. Even then I imagine it should be worth several £1000s which could be used for a deposit on a new car which much lower monthly payments. Very hard being 23, needing a car for work and saving for a mortgage, hopefully made the right financial decisions. If I could afford it all upfront I would pay that way though without a doubt.

I used their Elect 3, with the £500 deposit paid by Citroen, I think mine will be about £380 P/M over 3 years and then the final balloon payment.

I based mine on 10K a year, however, it's worth bearing in mind that unless you are simply going to hand the car back at the end and walk away without buying it/selling it or P/X'ing it, the mileage side doesn't really matter.

I'm going to be saving over £300 a month on costs and that's without taking in to account the fuel difference between my current 6.1L V8 and the 1.6L Hdi!!

There would be no point in backing it to get a DS4 as you would have equity in the car! which would go towards your deposit for the DS4!!

Yep but the total cost is £17352. I was also told you can pay off more whenever you want which would obviously lower the interest if you could.

I'm lucky in some ways that I have a partner close to finishing University who will hopefully earn nearly as much as me. Paying for the mortgage will never be the problem, saving for the deposit as I'm sure you know is a pain in the arse.
