Got my DS3 yesterday!
Hi all,
Just want to introduce myself, I got my Cherry Red (black roof) DStyle HDI 90ps DS3 yesterday - new company car! Got it specced with Leather and the DS Connect pack - though slightly wishing I'd gone for the city pack with the lights/reverse signals etc. Ah well.
Bit of a switch for me, the car I traded in was a 2001 Subaru Impreza WRX STi (Bugeye) - 275bhp. Awesome car, but I've been doing 100 miles a day 5 days a week and filling the tank with £55 of v-power super unleaded every 200 miles was starting to get a bit heavy on the pocket. (infact the money I will save on fuel will actually pay for the car itself!)
Currently living in Cambridge but make the run over to Hemel Hempstead every day at the moment.
Liking the car - a few observations
1) Need to get used to the driving position, it feels a bit "high" but if I lower the seat and wheel to the right position I can't see the top half of the instrument bin - I'm sure I can figure this out though
2) Slighly annoying rattle from the centre airvents/surround - but I think I can just wedge a ver small shim in between the trim and the top dashboard and that will fix it.
3) Doesn't handle like an impreza
4) Nippy through the gears (though it does feel like the gear throw is measured in miles - different from the short shift box on the scoob, and my wife's Civic type-s)
5) The leather seats are very comfy
6) The built in air-freshener stinks! even when it's closed
Is there some sort of rev limiter in 5th? It pulls nicely all the way up there but it seems very reluctant to go over 3k (which is a shade over 90mph when I tested it on my private track)
Other than that, getting used to the car and a long run up to Yorkshire over the easter weekend to show it off to the family!
