      Tesco use the same underwriters as Directline to my knowledge. You'll be lucky if you get a quote as I don't think they'll cover anyone under 25

                        well looks like im getting shafted on the Insurance price as well Pick up the car on Tuesday best quote I have had so far is Admiral. 90HDI D-style £833. 30 yrs old, 7 yrs NCB protected. £300 voluntary excess.
                        Our 2.2 EX Civic was only £600 for the year.

                              That'll only reduce the premium by a few pounds.
                              I suspect that the cost is hiked up by any number of factors, area where he lives, where the car is parked overnight, his job description, other drivers (or lack of) and finally what the use of the car will be and the mileage.

                                what is protected ncb anyway?

                                surely if you move companys after an accident you still have to tell them if you have claimed?
