If it's just for the mr's and kid go with the diesel. It's still powerful enough and you'll save the pennies easily too.

Depends how you end up paying for the car tbh - If you were buying it outright then probably not, but as you are talking of leasing you will generally be able to get a higher spec diesel version for less per month than the petrols due to depreciation figures - even though you're only looking at around 8000 miles per year the total cost over 2 / 3 years will be lower

If you go off Zack's estimations of 70 odd MPG then defniitely. In the THP I struggle to get above 37.

For 8k a year wicked id say petrol, i rack up 20k a year so the extra expence of diesel pays for itself. Although its up to you. I dont think i could go back to a petrol car as im use to the diesel drive.

But its what you can afford really, get the best you can i guess

To get the best out of diesel in the long run you should do at least over 10k a year but like you said cost aint an issue, depends what you like the feel off, i just enjoy the effortless relaxed driving that comes with a diesel. You dont need to rev it to move anywhere.
Im sure kenzie will appreciate the silence of the diesel on the move too.!

and Zack has a heavy right foot so i could theoretically do that on £1.50

I put a full tank in last thursday and got just shy of 600 miles before i bottled it and filled up. All on under £55 of derv, so i quite believe it Zack.
