Looking closer at the video your friend is having to put a lot of pressure on the bar in order to move the brake, not something that could happen 'accidentally' in my opinion. As Stef has already shown the brake ball has a steel shield already in order to stop things like this happening so I would ask you to post a picture of where your foot has to be in order to do this please.

i argee some pressure is needed and please bear in mind when this crash happened the car i was driving wasn't fitted with the rasied capet that has been added since the crash and citroen fitted this them self's afterwards.

my passenger had his chair moved forward and as he reached round to the back of the car, his foot must of been in the right place and with the pressure he had put on his right foot to turn round applyed the brake.

since the modifiction we had admited it is harder to do but it can still be done in my opinion easyly and i have done it on all DS3's in the swansea showroom apart from the DS3R which is all covered.

i am in work at the momment but when i get home i will try and get some photo's and a video if i can of a passenger doing this. i'll do my best for you when i get home.

Just a thought based on my experience of the 'Emergency Brake Assist' function activating twice on my old C2VTS when I didn't want or need it to. Is there a chance that happened?

The circumstances with mine were that EBA activated when driving ambitiously I went very quickly from the accelerator to the brake. I don't know how EBA triggers but it seemed to me that it was when the time taken to go from power to brake is less than a preset interval.

A combination of two independent sets of feet could produce this effect perhaps? I'm guessing that the braking signal comes from the brake light electrics and requires very little pedal movement? Once EBA activates the car's in control until you release the brake pedal, and boy does it stop quickly

      Just my 2 pen'orth

Not at all mate he was in his seat and seat belt on and there is nothing saying you can not reach round into the back of the car if he had got up and turned round maybe it would be Fucked Up but there is nothing about reaching round to the rear of the car

Just been having a play with my car on the drive, not tested anything while the car is in motion.

I was able to get the brake pedal to move by cramming my foot deep into the foot well. It needed a lot of force to move the pedal a tiny amount and is a rather odd position for anyone to have their feet.

mmmmm - might be enough movement to trigger the EBA - does anyone know how that kicks in?
