My Ds3 is dead :(

A clio pulled out in front of me at a junction into a 60mph road and i t-boned the clio doing around 50mph. Luckily all i've got is whiplash but one of the 4 peeps in the clio got his leg smashed and the other 3 in the car walking wounded. Could have been a lot worse but i am so glad the DS3 held up well to the collision albeit now quite a bit shorter

Yep the DS3 did it's job, and the reality is it's just a car, thank goodness no serious injury.

There's another DS3 for you if you need it, and everyone is still here

Phew glad you're safe which is always the main thing. How did they miss the DRL's bloody Clio drivers, must have been Capt Slow. Here's to a nicely repaired or even brand new replacement DS3

Aye it's only a car and it's a definite write off, will have to sort the insurance etc out today as tbh i couldn't be arsed last night :/
The clio driver either just didn't see me or tried to shoot out for a gap which frankly wasn't there. The impact spun me around 180° and the clio got shunted across the road, it really does make you realise how much safer newer cars are.

I know it's easy saying there's another car for you and as long as everyones safe its fine, but it seems like the worst thing in the world especially when you could do nothing about it. But realistically it was quite clearly their fault and you could do eff all about it, the claim therefore should commence quickly, I think its normally 4-6 weeks for a write-off cheque, and if your claiming injuries it's normally 6-9 months.

I would watch out for them pointing out you had your DRL's on, anyone will try to pull a fast one and make the accident your fault.

I know this cause someone rear ended me when I was sitting in traffic with my handbrake on, smashed into me at 50mph, tried to say she "didn't see my brake lights " :rolleyes:

Make sure to get an injury claim in! People say blah blah injury claims hiking up insurance premiums... Try living with awful back & neck pain for a year because someone else can't drive!

Lets hope they're not stupid enough to give you a Clio as a courtesy car. Glad to hear you're ok. These days cars are designed to take more of the impact to protect the people inside, invariably this means the car is written off, where as 10 years ago it would have been repairable. Hopefully your insurance company will play fair and sort you out quickly and to your full satisfaction.
