Ive been having nothing but problems with my black beauty, I made the mistake of buying from Arnold Clark in the first place. Ive had my baby 8 months and in that 8 months its been in and out of the dealership. When I brought my car the milage was 22,000 and off I went happy as Larry off the forecourt, just over a month later, Engine Fault-Repair Needed, so back to the dealership I took it. Get a phonecall the next day, Your car is ready for collection. Had this about 5 times since and eventually Citroen had it in to look at but I bet AC didnt tell them about the previous problems with the car and they only replaced a part to do with the Turbo.
To cut a long story short my car has now done 34,500 miles and i can go a few months without the code P0087 low fuel rail pressure or something..(I never let it run below half a tank if i can help it)coming up when it does, it gets plugged into diagnostics. The dealership clearly only reset the fault and due to their lack of knowledge never explored the problem. Before the engine management light comes on the "ESP Icon" (I think it is anyway, the icon with the car on what looks like skidmarks) << I do have to apologise about my lack of knowledge when I accelerate the car feels really sluggish and it feels like it splutters a bit and the warning lights come on. My warranty is up in March and im worried that it will be very expensive to fix once that runs out if they dont extend the warranty ( which at this point looks quite likely as its because of them that 8 months down the line the problem hasnt been sorted) I think what could have happened is that the Fuel Filter hasnt been replaced before I purchased the car, Ive owned it from 22,000 and only after doing a bit of research found out that it is suggested this gets replaced at 25,000. My car has now done 34,500 so is it likely that this is whats causing the problem. I used to get roughly 54 MPG and now im only getting 46 at best, I use Shell Nitro+ as I wanted to prevent this problem occuring. I have also noticed that when i drive home 8 miles that when i turn my engine off the fan is on and it sounds like its on full speed because its quite loud. Does this sound like anything major?
Citroen are having it back off me Monday via Arnold Clark as AC had it Thursday aty a different branch because the engine management light came on (last time it came on was in June) apparently fixed it and when driving it home on the motorway I accelerated and the car went into safety mode but im worried that they wont tell them about the previous problems and when they plug it in of course there wont be any faults showing as they have been wiped, is there anything major you guys can think of to mention with your wealth of knowledge when it goes in? every time I mention fuel pump nobody takes me serious they just fob me off..I want to make sure this problem gets resolved once and for all so I can actually make a journey without worrying about getting there. Does it sound like anythin major to worry about i.e making them trade it for another? Im not prepared to let my DS3 go and get a replacement car as that just defeats the object of buying it. Please help guys I would be so greatful. Im in touch with the CEO of Arnold Clark now so hopefully they might take some notice and fix it. Look forward to hearing your advice.Last edited by j0anne3001; 12-12-2015, 10:37.

You asked for advice...but you won't like it. I had a similar issue with my previous car - spent more time in the garage than on the road over a 7 month period. Dealer didn't have a clue. 2 days out of warranty, the problem still existed after being 'rectified' 2 weeks before the warranty ran out. The dealer said 'get stuffed'. I went to Vauxhall direct and complained and suddenly the dealer are happy to do the same repair under warranty. Sadly, that didn't help either and I got rid of the car because I didn't want the stress. As far as I know, if the original fault hasn't been satisfactorily repaired under warranty then it's an ongoing fault and is covered until it is satisfactorily repaired. Whether that works in practise is another matter. Maybe you could contact Citizens Advice or Trading Standards even, for clarification."I'm a writer. I give the truth scope."

I had a problem with mine, on the day I was due to pick it up. They went to put some diesel in it for me before I turned up, on the way back the engine light came on. As it was a Saturday morning there was nobody who could look at it. I had already cancelled my insurance on my old car so they gave me a courtesy car (the salesman's) and looked at it first thing Monday morning. It turned out to be the pump for the AdBlue. They fixed it by the next day and brought the car to my house to save me any further inconvenience and gave me a full tank of diesel.
But, when I filled up the light came on again. Apparently, and they were totally unaware of this at the time, they had to re-bleed the system after changing this pump. Since doing this its been totally fine.

I could cry.
Unfortunately I think I have a similar problem, After owning the car for less than 3 hours!
I have an engine warning light.
The fuel light did come on before I got home after buying her. I didn’t fill it, thinking I had 50 miles to go and getting home wouldn’t be an issue. But, when I went to go and fill her up this evening, I got a new yellow: 'engine fault, needs repair’ warning. And A 'fuel too low' warning.
I took it to my local petrol station about half a mile away and I obviously drove very gently too, it didn’t stutter. I filled it to the brim, It took 44 litres, meaning there should have been about 3 or 4 or left in the tank. the capacity being 48 litres.
Since filling it continues to run fine. But the warning light is persisting...
I’m presuming, given the sequence of events, that the warning is just because I let the fuel run low.
But I’m currently stuck with the warning.
Teething problems!
I could take it to my garage round the corner to take a look. It’s possible that hooking it up to a diagnostic tool might solve the issue? I doubt they would charge much for running a diagnostic, but I really don’t know…
any advice I’d appreciate it.
