I would look into cancelling the claim if possible? As it could cost you a lot in your next premium, nevermind the excess!

£250 for my excess so I'm taking the car tomorrow to get an estimate so I know whether to go through insurance or just pay for the repair. I lose 2 years NCD if the other guy (read: arrogant wanker) goes through his insurance cos it's a 50/50 claim.
