Rub it with some leather cream (or at a push natural hand cream) which should help.

Haha! Yeah I'm going to give that a go I reckon, might give the bracket a squirt with some WD40 (or DW40) which I'm hoping will help!:cool:

Well still no definitive answer about the cup holder? it looks like i am not going to buy one as i use the cup holder all the time! Too many coffees. if i can fit it and then use the cup holder when the arm is raised that would be fine! can't believe i am spending so much time typing about an armrest - i must get out more! lol

If your buying the likes of Starbucks or Costa then those cups fit into the front pocket like a charm.

no i find it 90% useless unless you are always on the motorway or otherwise don't need the handbrake often it just gets in the way and just gets left up all the time

i've got one (not by choice), and i only use it for added storage, only used it as an armrest once

Down 100% of the time for me. Maybe I don't use the handbrake as much as I should?

It gets in the way when I change gear. I've tried, but i just don;t find it comfortable.
