So what about "High risk areas" IE High accident rates- will a Sat Nav show them? Cos that would make me slow well
down below the legal limit that which I would be travelling (Doffs cap)
SatNavs will show just about anything you want as a Point of Interest (POI) - you can download all sorts of POIs from various websites. The problem with using POIs is that if you want an early warning SatNavs can only warn when they are within a pre-defined radius which can give all sorts of false warnings; dedicated speed camera warning devices detect direction of travel so they can filter out unnecessary information, e.g. red light cameras on motorway junctions which you're not taking.

I suppose you sit in the middle lane coz the inside lane is the slow lane!

I never mentioned motorways and the knob drivers are on normal roads overtaking people driving sensibly and correctly. I run a driving school but people do it wether it's a learner driving or not.
        "
As for the excuse of driving around the country, I think you will find the whole of the UK uses the same road signs so if you aren,t seeing them then you are driving too fast!!

Dude, I'm exciting to be with. I'm not going to go into detail about how I drive or what I set my cruise control too or how 'exciting' I am because I drive at 31mph.

The 'debate' I thought was about whether you think you should buy something that will aid the ability to know where speed cameras are. Where as most have said that if you adhere to speed limits and speed camera warnings and so on you won't get caught? Which shouldn't be a primary concern?

DS3ADI- Yep- me a middle laner. Youre right
"Knob" driving- 30 mph in town is enuff
What about "Knob" driving over 70 mph motorways- whats the view on that?

WTF - 16K miles on and no speeding - exciting
My debate- look at the first post- was not about where speed cameras are
And I.m sure your exciting when u wanna b- but youre and Admistrator- hey- Congrats

Keep up, 25k now. Not been caught speeding, but it's not a primary objective. Not sure what your point is.

I'm not going to rise to how and why I may I or may not have gone over the speed limit in my x amount of years of driving.

I'v never found the need to buy one of those speed camera recognition things as tbh I always do my best not to speed, sure sometimes I might slide over on an open country road but not by very much, you don't need to do do 100mph everywhere do have a fun drive.
For the record I do 65 on the motorway but then that's because I want to save fuel :P
I also think having something that tells you where schools are is pointless, they are always well signposted, and if you are in a built up area you shouldn't be going fast enough to miss the signs, I just think the spotters are just a bit of a rip off.
But then that's only my opinion and in most cases im found to be a buffoon but I still keep spewing it out!

Going back to your original post. The answer is that road signs point out all the things you are asking about including abroad which therefore makes the snooper a waste of money. If you are driving while alert no problem, if tired then rest first or don,t drive.

As for chillin' you obviously don't know me very well:cool:

I use my tom tom to tell me where speed cameras are.

and as for schools..... they should of been taught how to cross a road! So not my problem xD
