Hi all. I’m new here and looking for some help / advice.
I have a 2016 1.2 DS3 with 50k miles. After a recent breakdown I was towed to the nearest garage. They inspected the car and found that my timing belt had deteriorated and the oil sump pumped was blocked. They wanted ?1600 to fix it.
After some research online I found this to be a known fault with this cars engine so had it towed to Citroen garage to get it fixed under an extended warranty update (original 3 yr warranty expired last year). After jumping through lots of hoops to prove service history, oil used, fault codes etc, the dealer applied to Citroen hq to get the fix approved.
They denied the request as no photo evidence of the blocked oil pump. (This must have been cleaned during diagnostics by the first garage). Without a photo of the blocked pump they won’t fix it and I’m faced with a potentially very large bill.
Does anyone have any advice on how best to proceed. Clearly the parts used when the car was made aren’t fit for purpose!
