My case is also proof that you are legally entitled to a refund and if you are persistent enough it will happen, it took me 8 months and two brand new Citroen DS3 Racings before I finally had a full refund.

Watching that programme was de ja vu regarding Citroen's attitude.

If you guys are still having problems with your cars, reject them, do as I did and both threaten to involve the press by CC'ing your emails/letters to editors of car magazines, BBC Watchdog etc.

    Never give up.

What was the problem with your cars?

I bought a brand new Racing in May last year, it started to misfire and not pull away when the speedo reached about 1,000 miles.

After multiple failed attempts to fix it and many replaced parts they told me it needed a new engine, I refused and was eventually given a brand new Racing, sure enough when it reached 1,000 miles it started playing up. I rejected it and had a bit of a battle to get a full refund, I finally got a full refund at the end of January, in total I was without my car(s) for over 3 months.

At the point I was told it needed a new engine I discovered that three other Racings were also waiting for new engines and at least one Racing owner had already rejected his car.

I watched the programme yesterday, and like most of you was pretty appalled at CUK's attitude. Correct me if I am wrong but under the new MOT rules a permanently lit warning light such as the engine management one would constitute an MOT failure? If this is the case, if the car was 3 years old then it would have been unusable as an MOT ticket couldn't be issued. If this argument is true, why is it permissible to use a the car based purely on the fact that it is under 3 years old? Finally, when I started my car this morning I got a lit "Service" lamp and "Engine fault" on the info panel. Fortunately, when I switched off and restarted all was cleared!! You can imagine how my heart sank.

If you end up rejecting your car, does it have to go back to the dealership you bought it from?

I don't want to get get caught in a 'Bun Fight' but it does help if you understand the process on the other side fo the fence when it comes to rejecting vehicles. Then you will understand a little more when dealers dig their heels in.

We had 2 month old DStyle e-HDi rejected because of a starting issue caused by the glowplugs, the issue was resolved by a change of plugs and a software update. At the time of reject the software was not ready and we accepted the customers rejection happley as we felt that the customer shouldn't had to drive it. We had to refund the full cost of the car, including the part exchange which had been SIV'ed which lost us nearly £1000. Couple this with the fact that Citroen would only refund us the market value, we had to fight tooth and nail to have all our costs covered. The point here is that it's your dealer that has to cover the costs and not Citroen UK, and it costs the network dear.

Totally agree Chris, it is rare that someone who has good experiences makes it known. I'm happy that you have a fully functional fault free THP and I sincerely hope it stays that way, as most who are aware of my issues know how gutted I was when the car(s) started playing up, the DS3 is a fantastic car, I was unfortunatly in the minority that had issues, but, there seemed to be far too many members coming here who have had issues with the THP and Racing, far more than any other car forum I've been a member of. Not to mention the absolutely huge amount of DS3 THP owners in France and the rest of Europe that are currently persuing a court case against Citoren/PSA, so if the car was that good, surely there wouldn't be that many owners disgruntled with their cars? http://distributionthp.free.fr/index...s_view_eng.php, oh yeah, and all the MINI owners worldwide who have had issues with sticky valves, timing chain etc, they all use the same basic engine.
