  • Best fuel consumption

Hi, I've bought a 1.4 ds3, coming down from a 2L rav 4. I do a 60 mile round trip to work plus I do work mileage. I tend to only do 5 miles a day on an A road and the rest on B roads as I am an 'enthusiastic' driver and think sticking to the B roads will reduce my fuel consumption. What are people's thoughts on this?

Why didn't you just get the diesel? Wouldn't that have been better for that drive?

Finances! by the time I'd paid £2k extra for the diesel plus interest, it worked out more expensive.

Oh Ok just curious. Think the enthusiastic driving will have the most impact on your milage I know it does for me.

My mpg drops dramatically when I do a B-road blast - but trundling along B-roads at a steady 55 (if you can - it's impossible around here because of tractors and numpties) should give decent mpg if there's not too much stopping & starting (although not as good as a steady 55 on a dual carriageway)
