Perhaps yea..I suppose it's up to individual opinion whether u want to pay out what after all is around 5% of the purchase price of a new car. Think I will give it a miss and buy an Alsatian instead. He can live in the car then!

Not sure I would want my car back after it was stolen anyway. It will have been damaged cosmetically during the theft process then thrashed the hell out off if it has been joy riders. I can't see a DS3 being stolen to export or re-sale unless it was maybe a racing. Save you money and go an a wee holiday somewhere.

Only 2% discount?
I got more off my insurance by mentioning that the car had parking sensors!...I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!

I've installed a Tracker in mine, I don't pay an annual subscription though. The package i got was a one off payment (I think around £400) which covers you for the entirety of you owning the vehicle.
Although the savings may not be fully realised on my insurance policy, i'm much happier knowing that if my car was stolen i have a reliable source of tracking it's locations and would be likely to get it back fairly quickly and wouldn't have to claim on my insurance for a stolen unrecovered vehicle which would then make my premiums go up. Also i like to know that the people responsible would most likely be caught.
However my dad had his Civic Type R stolen from his home a few years ago (the theives broke into the house during the night and took the keys), and we were able to track it as he had a spare mobile phone hidden in the boot which he was tracking via a web service. After calling the police, we just tracked it and went down to where it was parked, picked it up with the spare keys and drove it home, then scheduled it to have the locks, etc changed - as well as the house locks, and bought a better house alarm.
Thing is with that technique, you have to have a spare phone, which you have to remember to charge.

I have a pay as you go mobile used only for holidays in effect, so its site in a draw 48 weeks of the year. Could that be tracked?
A lot cheaper than a tracker it seems- and obviously the hassle of charging- as DS3 when keys are out disables the 12v charger socket

Best one I've used for Android is SeekDroid. If you pay a monthly fee, you can also get some cool advanced features such as location 'fencing', breadcrumb history, etc...
