The other named driver is something of an enigma, my insurance is cheaper by including my wife who has had two no fault claims in the last five years than it is for just myself who has never made any claim. Go figure.

Mines a THP, just renewed with 5 years no claims, not protected, age 29 with 3 points on license for speeding :-) it was £320 this time. I have said i keep it in the garage this year as its made it cheaper but last year it was cheaper to park it on the street by £39.....as if i really parked the DS3 on the street, but the insurance didn't know that :-)

How the hell do you get your insurance that low Lewis? How long have you been driving for, I'm the same age and I'm paying alot more than that on a bloody hdi!

3 years no claims, multicar discount and a okay-ish postcode.. It's all luck in my opinion... I've been lucky that the Admiral group has been so kind to me as every other quote I get from others are always £200 more

Admiral won't quote me on multicar because they won't insure Barchettas. Sods!

If only it were possible to buy one policy, for one named driver, that covered 2+ cars. The most you tend to get with these multicar policies is 20-30% off the price of 2 separate policies. I can't drive more than one car at the same time, so why does it cost so much to insure 2+ vehicles? (allowing that there needs to be some loading for a multicar policy, because insuring 2 cars = 2 x the risk of theft etc).

I've been kicking around the idea of buying a cheapo 4x4 to get me through the white stuff in the winter, but it would mean taking out a 3rd policy, and building up another ncb. If it were easier to swap between 2 vehicles on one policy (6 months for the B in the summer, 6 months for a 4x4 in the winter), I'd jump at it. But they make it so damned difficult!

I've just renewed my insurance after my first year of driving and it's cost me £949.57...

I'm 18 and living in Felixstowe, we must have low car theft or something!

I'm with admiral and pay 760 on a THP
It's my first policy in my name as was down as a named driver on my Alfa, so no no-claims and I'm 25.
Although in my previous address in London it was over 1k. Postcode seems to make a massive difference.

I'm glad I posted this - I wonder if one of the wizards on tables, spreadsheets, etc could do a simple table with age, ncb, location, car (I know DS3 I mean which variant) and who with - then we could update with our deals and then using next time by trying to target the right insurer's for our age, location, etc....

Looks like mine may still come down more yet, I've not bottomed out on the premiums at £234......

I also had other half on (not married) but she had one fault claim this year so she now raises it - simple, I removed her from the policy as I'm the only one allowed to drive my car anyway!

Bigfeet - I presumed because I said 'DSport Plus' they'd know it had rear parking sensors? I do all comparisons online as per Martyn Lewis' moneysavingexpert.com website's advice on getting the best quote so I didn't speak to anyone but I wonder if it's worth an extra phonecall after finding the cheapest quote to see if it will fall a little more...

                              Regards,
                              Clive.

For us two the postcode wont make any difference. Mine is m24, I'd guess yours is OL. Either way they both in the same risk category.
The way I do it is get a quote through confused. Select the cheapest quote and follow it through to their website. When there start amending details such as where it's kept (the street is always cheapest for me) change the mileage by 1000 mile increments until you find the cheapest (normally about 6000), play around with the cars value, always put TWO women on the policy (they both make a difference for me), try different versions of your job title and say your co-habiting makes it cheaper than being married.

All these made a massive difference for me. 690 for my THP 630 for my racing both with me and the girlfriend on
