Sometimes it's cheaper with a wife/partner on there as named driver- they reckon blokes in stable relationships are statistically less of a risk than the unattached.

Mind you, my wife's record (both claims & points) is much worse than mine, so nowadays I leave her off altogether, as it's much cheaper that way (and I get to drive!).

I spoke too soon. I've just run through some alternative quotes for the THP on comparison sites, and even though my wife's got 3 points and 2 claims in the last 5 years, it STILL turned out cheaper (admittedly only by a few £) to add her to my policy as a named driver. If she'd had a clean record like mine, it would have dropped the quote from £187 to £145 (that's for comprehensive with pnc, £0 voluntary excess, 10k miles pa)

So how you go bout ammending insurance re mods?
IE- New exhaust?
Always seems to be some service advisor who hasnt a clue bout cars
So explain a performance exhaust and what they say- have a manual to look at do they?
And what if youve mapped- tell them what the torque and BHP is?
