When it's in your car it'll be plugged in? And i's not just copilot that'll drain a battery, anything using your GPS will. Satnav apps use the GPS to update every second or so and it's that which drains the battery. Saying that though, even not plugged in mine lasts about 2 hours running copilot, my tablet will last about 6 hours but Xoom's have very good batteries

Yeah but they were saying it drained the battery quicker than the car could charge it. Obviously it's not a problem you have experienced. Your running an S3 yes?

I like Garmin a lot just thought I would try a TomTom. Paid map updates are not too much of an issue for me as we'll probably change it again when we get another new car in two years time, or perhaps get a car with sat nav built in

Pc- the problem isn't copilot, they're using the wrong car charger! If you get a cheap one the current isn't set for full charge, only trickle charge and even bluetooth will drain a phone on trickle charge. When you get a charger make sure it supports full USB charging not trickle charging and yes, I have an s3.

DS3r- go for it, I recommend the Brodit mounts, the fact they clip onto the dashwork makes them way cool but they can be a bit pricy but I think mine were worth it, lots of people comment on them at shows and cruises

I really recommend the phone one because of the way the phone goes into it- it leaves the camera totally clear and they swivel so you can twist the mount to get the right angle if you want to take video on the track using torque (with the instrument and map overlay) or just to video some guy driving like a douche

Re the car charger, I take it the one I got with the phone from CW is not up to the job? I just checked the output and it's 5v at 500mA whereas the mains charger is pushing out 1.0amp

500mA is trickle charge if I remember rightly. They sell decent ones for not much money on Amazon but you have to trawl through them to find the right one

I was just looking at the official Samsung charger on Amazon and the reviews are completely contradictory. One guys says it's fantastic and does the job even when using Sat Nav and then another guy says it was useless and his phone had less charge in at the end of his journey than it had at the beginning! Will plough on an try to find something where everyone agrees

Never had a problem with them, even when something was out of stock they kept me informed by email & it arrived within the time they had specified.
