The PAYG option is a really good idea, means you pay for as much warranty as you need....I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!

This gets more interesting ...
So I went onto Autotrader, selected a few THPs at random, and ran their registration numbers through the online extended warranty quotation system.
For some of them, I was given a choice of annual premium (£225) or monthly renewal (£22.50 x 10)
For others, I got the choice of annual premium (same price - £225) or PAYG (£24 pm)
The older ones didn't get the monthly renewal option. The cut-off point seems to be 2-3 months before the end of the 3-year warranty. It wasn't a very scientific survey - I only checked half a dozen THPs.
Now I can understand why the options offered might be different for an older car - but I'm a bit p*ssed off that I was misled on the phone, as the very clear answer I was given, to my very clear question, was: "we no longer do a monthly renewal option".Last edited by gar074; 11-02-2013, 10:22.

Just got an answer to my own question after a quick phone call to the Citroen Extended Warranty people...
They've ditched the Monthly Renewing option - you now either have to pay the full amount up front (£225 in my case), or choose the PAYG option (£24 pm), which works out more expensive over a full year, and isn't transferable.e-HDi 110 DSport Plus Perla Nera Black Metallic

The renewal option is removed in favour of the PAYG option if the car has less than 45 days of warranty remaining.
By the way ICF sort out your sig please...I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!

It would have been helpful if they'd made that clear on their website! I'd have been quite happy to take out the monthly renewal policy 45 days ago if I'd known that it was subject to a 45-day cut-off.
