I'm just gonna re-iterate this.

Please, please, please do this before making any mods to the car.

If you modify you car in any way and don't inform the insurance company and they then find out about it, before or AFTER you have a crash your insurance will be invalid.

I've been hit by an uninsured driver before and it's a piss-take to go through the motions to resolve. If you're one of these people, I will find you and I will destroy you. x
