my ds3 cabrio is no more

Went round a bend last night and instead of the car turning with me we went straight ahead hit a curb and spun on a grass verge.

No one else around or involved.. got breakdown to take it to citroen, breakdown chap looked at it and said ball joint had popped out and hed never seen anything like it on a new car!

Sounds like a manufacturing fault, hope they dont try and blame it on you and claim on your insurance. If you get a new one you'd have the most DS3s out of anyone in the club lol

Wow glad you're ok as the others have said.....

I had a big smash at the end of April in mine (blow out on M25) and she was written off. All who saw the damage were impressed at how well the DS3 was built and that I walked away from it....

thats my worst nightmare, turning the wheel and nothing happening. Fingers crossed it's a one off.

When you say the car didn't turn are we talking about classic under steer or the steering wheel didn't move?

From the original post Biggie I assumed that the steering didn't turn (or the wheel did but the wheels on the car didn't)..... rather than understeer

I don't know I thought they had understeer then the wheel hit the curb and since the wheels would have been turned but car going straight the impact would have been to the wheels sidewall area breaking the ball joint.

This happened to me in a car I used to have.

No worries, I am still not 100% what happened in my accident when I suffered a blow out..... don't think I can guess what happend here
