  • Tyre pressure

Just checked the tyre pressures and they were at 37 psi ?

Surely that cant be the recommended pressure so ive put them at 32 psi

2.4 bar (35psi) as I recall from when I checked the manual - should be a label inside passenger door detailing correct pressures.

Also tire pressure should be checked when the tires are cold. If you check them right after driving with warm tires the pressure will be higher . With the colder weather coming you should recheck the tire pressure as it will typically drop about 1psi for every 10deg drop in temp. This effect will be less if you have dry nitrogen in your tires instead of air.

Got to say that I thought having tyres at correct pressure was a bit of tosh- 3 or 4 psi out, so what
But it does really affect the handling, especially when really low. You can turn a corner and its like treacle pudding
Check mine weekly. Cold. As revenge is served. LOL

Yeah this is the normal load tyre pressures, I am checking my rear left regularly as I think I may have a slow puncture, going to have a look tomorrow and find out

Interesting (to me, anyway!) point on tyre pressures. Right now I'm driving (well, not actually right now!) a Chevy Malibu, which has a tyre pressure readout on the dash. What I find odd is that all four wheels start at 31 psi, but when the tyres are hot the fronts go up to 32, the rears go up to 34. . . it's a front wheel drive car, so I'd expect the rears to be doing more work.

That is odd. Radio senders in wheels and someone put the wheels on the other axle and car does not know it? Or have you forgotten to take the bodies out of the boot?

No, it's quite normal for the rear tyres to wear faster on a front wheel drive than the front ones so the higher temperatures is no surprise.

That makes no sense - the fronts will always wear quicker than rears even on rear wheel driven cars due to steering & engine weight on them.

by experience, my front tyres have always worn twice as fast as my rears on the last 4 front wheel drive cars i've owned.

I checked my tyre and discovered a bloody nail on the outside edge, not pleased with that as the tyres aren't 4m old yet ! Still have managed to source the same Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 tyre and am having that fitted on Thursday for £144 all in, not to bad for a Michelin I thought.

Just a bit nervous after the blow out I had previously, so wanted it sorted asap
