When I say bolt to rubber, I kind of mean over most of it but I'm certain it bolts in places into the car

Depends how much you want 'real' carbon fibre. Normal benefit is that it's lighter & stronger but as it's an addition (rather than replacement), you're essentially only adding it for the look.
