  • Dashboard Cameras?

Finding it hard to sleep.. ended up on the strange side of youtube watching russian dashcam antics.
Just out of curiosity, does anyone on the site use any of these devices?
After having an accident I wondering whether or not having a dashcam would have been handy.

I use a Go ProHero 2 as a dash cam, full HD video, runs on a battery or you can run it from the 12v socket. I have some interesting footage from close calls to being stopped by the army on my way to work. The Black Vue or Road Hawk systems are quite popular but they require the 12v connection rather than battery.

I have a Mio miVue 388 in permanent use in my DSport THP 155, ruby red with black roof.
Had car for a month and absolutely love it, the Mio records all my trips so well, covers all the road and buildings etc both sides.
When played back on the PC the quality of video is superb, even after dark using just the headlights. Speed and precise location on a map is also shown, together with a part of the screen showing G forces on the car while being driven. Not a cheap item, but then neither is the car, but I feel it could prove a useful item if there are any problems on the road.
