  • What learners can do to a alloy wheel !!!!

Don't despair when you scrape your alloy wheels. This pic shows what learners can do to a wheel.

And this is me being careful.

ouch! Get some Alloy Gators on that bad boy.
Just looked into refurbs and it looks like £95 a wheel! slightly eye watering but a few guys on here have alloygators fitted and swear by them now!

if i was you, every learner i'd say, "you hit a kerb, i add £5 on your bill"
    Knock Knock?

Made the mistake and used some Rimblades from new and they were totally useless. My next DS I intend to used alloygators.

I like the idea of the £5 fine.......... all those fines I could save up enough to buy the whole car....lol

ps. maybe even a £10 fine when they try and write the car off.....

My Rimblades have been pretty good- it depends how hard you whack the kerb I suppose

Rimblades much easier to put on, and the Alloygators I had, actually retained water behind the hard plastic, (Which rimblades don't do cos they are stuck to the rim, not just clipped) and took the clearcoat away from the rim, and after 18month they looked awful, white n powdery and pitted etc.

Actually left the Alloygators on when I part exed to cover the damage

Then again, accept that Rimblades are not as robust. However, they have changed the compound recently and its much tougher now

Mine was done worse than that by 1 learner on a test!! he did it good and proper and I had to have a new tyre!!! I have a section in my terms and conditions that any damage to wheels and tyres is the responsibility of the driver and they are liable for any costs incurred.

I have Asheras..... Hardly worth worrying about. It was, scuff a wheel or lose some of the front my car with an incoming horsebox that wasn't slowing or moving

I'm addicted to brake fluid, but I can stop anytime.

Oooh painful. I am so careful with my wheels. I will never drive up a kerb. I couldn't live with that wheel I would have to get it repaired now!!!

I did my wheel good & proper in a multi story car park, made me feel sick as I'd only had the car from new!

Fitted rimblades & they've been great, but they've only been on 3 months.
