  • Full carbon fibre splitter.

    Hi all,

    New comer to the club!

Just wondering as I was looking to make cosmetic changes to my DS and wondered about a DS splitter!

So I've contacted a company who work with carbon fibre and are willing to look into
designing and producing one for the DS providing numbers are feasible!

So would anyone be looking at one of these??
I know they are designing splitters for the Focus ST, RS, fiesta st and the new focus ST.

Any ideas on the price and design they'd be looking to make?

The design will make the front look slightly wider and will be contoured to at least 4 cm of the lower bumper, wrapping underneath and will then be slightly flared at the sides, this gives the front end a more purposeful stance!

Prices would be in the region of £130 baring in mind these will weigh next to nothing and are 100% carbon and not carbon effect.

They are planning on offering both plastic and carbon fibre.

I don't have a link as they are only at design stage. Same with their Focus ST/RS splitters.

Are they? I've never seen a carbon fibre part from them, it's always been GRP.

                  Are there any admins around???

Yep, Wes mentioned it in the Triple R thread I linked to earlier.

Forgive my ignorance but what does a front splitter do?

Not getting one either way, for two reasons:
                        1) Mines a lease car
                        2) My wife would do nothing but call me a boy racer lol

                          Lol,

A splitter is designed for motor racing, it helps to push air underneath the car and aids in downforce. This in turn allows for a faster turn in and more stability.

Also known as a front valance.

So not much difference on an every day car? More a cosmetic thing for everyday?

Front spoiler is meant to do the opposite :-) (help creates a lower air pressure under the car effectively sucking the car down)
