Haven't read all the posts here about the THP.
But, I'd really take into consideration that it COULD be a timebomb on wheels.

I've had mine for 32k KM's, and getting fed up with everything...

I can clearly hear the engine knocking, garage said it was nothing.
My clutch is in need of change (and i'm definately not a racer type of guy)
Latest thing I had was the reservoir for my cooling fluids was EMPTY -> leaking radiator hose.

If it wasn't for my love for this car, I would've sold it allready.

My HDI is an absolute hoot to drive; sure it's not quite like a petrol, but with the mileage I do, economy is essential and I find the 115 a good balance between fun, solidity at speed and frugality.

If you've had those problems have you thought about changing to a different car altogether? Not many of those faults sound diesel-exclusive?

Why not hire one for a day, or a weekend, and then you could give it a real workover?
If you come across as really serious to a dealer, they may even lend you one for a time
One manufacturer used to give weekend test drives from what I recall

MG Rover used do 48 hrs drives on all MGs. It was a disaster! We had folks booking cars to go to weddings in or weekends away, our manager at the time saw our TF being used as a bridal car!!

                Sent from somewhere out there...

Yes, I could see people abusing the hell out of that.

Surely a deposit, and some sort of agreement (Mileage etc) could sort that
They give out enough courtesy cars- i had a 115 airdream for a day, and i know some who had a courtesy for a week!
Surely people woudnt want to take a vehicle with Company stickers all over it to a wedding- sad!

And the idea is to sell a car, that the dealer has confidence in
