  • Hello.. Looking to buy a DS3 1.6 diesel

    Hi all,

I'm Sophie and from the Gatwick area, this is my first post, and i don't actually own a DS3 (YET! ) I currently own a 2013 Suzuki swift sport but after have 2 non fault crashes in the car in 6 months, i'm coming to the idea the car just isn't for me, and after being sideswiped by a lorry on Wednesday i decided to get it fixed and sell up.

I'm going into Citroen on Saturday to have a look and have a test drive and hopefully find something i like! But i'm looking to know from you if there is anything i need to look out for (as owners i think you will know best) and on the forum i am currently on, a lot of posts like this come up and i always see loads of helpful feedback. I hope you are the same.. I am looking for a very low millage car, so i would hope not to find any faults, but wasn't sure if there were any i need to listen or look for?

    Would really appreciate your comments,

    Sophie

Hello! And welcome! I bought from new and to be honest, was more than just a little taken with the car as soon as I saw it on the internet.
Once I drove a similar one, I just bought it there and then! Although to be fair, I'd pretty much said yes over the phone without ever even sitting in one!

From what I've read and after speaking to others, the diesel is very good and you'll love it. I have the DStyle petrol and it's great for my needs! (And cheap on insurance!!)

I'm sure others will help far more than my rumblings anyway!!

well to be honest, i'm not certain i want a diesel, just the zero road tax appeals to me a lot also with the mpg, i think my most important question would be are they fun little cars? I love mine its so much fun and to lose that, not sure what i'd do!

Yep! All the models are great fun to drive and an all round nice place to be

Look at the DSport models if you're looking for something with a sportier engine, both the petrol and diesel are great.

Hi and welcome to the club

If you do buy one then I'm sure you won't regret it, I have the 1.6 eHDI (90) and love it.

It's a great little car to drive

As far as problems go I think the only thing to really avoid (IMO) is the DS3R as they seem to have more problems than most.

You'll absolutely love it, i've had two. Both Petrol DStyle models and never had so much enjoyment driving.

Just dont let Citreon clean it (See my thread "Ruined!!")

Yes! I have the 1.6 petrol DStyle and I love it. It makes me grin like an idiot every time I drive it

You guys do know how to tempt me!

Is there a lot of difference between the 90bhp and the 113 or what ever it is bhp in the diesel?

You make it sound as fun as suki...

The number relates to the BHP, 90 & 115. The higher the number, the more fun you can have

                    I know what bhp is!

Just wondered if there was a noticable difference or just a little?

If your looking for a low mileage car and thinking of finance you'll probably be better off going for new as the rate on PCP is half that of a used car and with the extra conquest bonus and Citroen deposits will also make it cheaper. Have a good chat with your dealer for numbers.

Do Citroen offer good deals on their finance on brand new?

I haven't looked too deeply into it as I almost got written off on Wednesday but always liked them before!

It could be Tate's... The one on manor royal in Crawley?

I will be enquiring about both the 90 and the 115 and new and used... Need to work out all my options and think about it and come back

Yeah that's them, I dealt with them and was impressed, you should drive both if you can to help you decide
