You'll be fine, I was completely honest about what I wanted and they were more than happy to let me have test drives on the DS3's they had in stock. I was lucky to have a large deposit and loan sorted, so didn't go down the PCP route but I understand from posts here that there are some great deals to be had.....
Although I've now moved onto a mid-life crisis Merc my DSport Plus was lovely. It was the petrol version but I once collected a member from here who had travelled to collect his new Diesel equivalent of mine. When following him it wad clear the car was almost as nippy as mine... I think had I not been tempted by the SLK I might have tried the diesel. Now I drive something where I'm pleased if I get 30 mpg out of it, lol...
In other words I think you'll love the diesel DS3.

Clive.

I have the 90 diesel in a dstyle plus and just spent the past few days chucking it around the back roads in South Wales and loved it. It's also great in the town and motorways to.
I liked them 2nd time round, went in Saturday and they were manic with the 14 plate and all I got was a brochure emailed over.. went in again on sunday to have a look when it was quieter and spoke to Bradley who was so helpful.. they were amazing
I've got a Diesel 1.6 Ds3, and I have to say it's my favourite car to date.
From a respectable point, the mileage you can get from it is great. There's tons of space as a 2 door hatchback for both passengers and luggage. I managed to fit 4 lads in the back of the car this weekend. Don't recommend it, but the high roof really makes the car more spacious. The speed limiter and cruise control makes all types of driving incredibly relaxing.
The car is also great fun, it's pulls really quickly if you keep it in second gear and sticks to the ground like glue. The car feels comfortable when driving gently on long drives as well as intensely for a few minutes.
My gripe is that I hate getting it dirty. It's not a car that should ever have mud on it (unless you've built it for rally). I also found the mechanism for the foldable seats are very sudden when released. So it will always make passengers jump, and take time to get used to. Also, there's no real decent cup holders for trips and the glove compartment is very small.
Picked up a 1.6 diesel Dsport today with 1800 miles on the clock. I know bugger all about Ds3's but it seems to have plenty of bells and whistles, is immaculate and seemed a bargain.
I have done all of 3 miles in it and look forward to going to work the long way round in the morning.
