I am starting this thread to hear your experiences after an ecu remap
I had an ecu remap on my thp car and also a few other mods (front mount intercooler-decat downpipe+ full exhaust with a big center silencer). I haven't done an ecu update after having my intercooler mounted but my impressions so far are:
The car feels slower /less torgue on low revs compared to stock.,,I miss the nice 'pulling' of the engine starting as low as 1500rpm.
After the remap my car feels slower at low rpm ,,then there is a feel of lag and then it sort of explodes above 3700rpm.
Also it feels loud and I don't like it...its not mad loud but it makes a sound similar to an oversized vacuum cleaner between 2000-3000rpm. I find it a bit tiring during journeys .. I don't know if this can be stopped if I have a high flow catalyst ?
and the big question most people would probably ask if they haven't done an ecu remap but thinking about it...Is it FAST? My car gave 195bhp on the dyno with ecu+ decat exhaust and after a month I had my front mount intercooler but didn't go back for an ecu update..The answer is YES...Very fast.. I am very surprised how fast it can go to 160 km/h ..you just put your foot down change 3rd-4th gear keep your foot down and you just passed 160km/h (100mph)
These are my personal experiences from my own thp ..For my personal taste I would have liked more low/mid revs torque than top end bhp. Some people may prefer the high end power/ top speed acceleration I think its a personal taste
