Hey guys, been a member for a while but this is my first post.
Had my THP for 2 years now and decided to go for the remap by a local reputable tuner, I've installed the MTC induction kit and Airtec intercooler in prep for this. Watching the dyno in progress I was a bit confused as the BHP was showing as 110-120 on the test runs and dismissed at first and thought "eh, must be just some testing or something" but turns out my car was making 123bhp before the map. After the map, it made 170bhp and 266 Nm, which is still almost 50bhp increase from what it was and definitely noticeable after driving it today but nowhere near the expected 195bhp and 300nm that was quoted by them (OMW Tuning), Comkotes and Velocity Tuning who are also well known in my area.
Now, the tuner said it was common for this car and the Cooper S to make nowhere near the quoted factory power due to the "turbo running out of puff" and intake temps starting at 23 degrees and reaching 45+ towards the end. Could it be due to another issue like an iffy fuel pump, clogged injectors or boost leak? The timing chain was replaced with new plugs last year and have had the valves de-carbonised about 8 months ago so shouldn't be impacting already?
(Also anyone debating the Airtec intercooler, I bought the one for the diesel and it fits perfectly and saved myself ?150)
Thanks Guys!
