Now got to see POWERFLOW bespoke/ custom exhaust specialists 5 mins from where I live tomorrow Anyone know or used them?
Seems you just tell them what you want, they then price it an do it lifetime guarantee
Will see what they have to say (Pricewise mainly)
Reeeaaalllyy like the BASTUCK (No silencer) but its pricey
May have a chance to get it fitted before WRC too CBLUE
Visited POWERFLOW exhausts today- Lee was good bloke talking me through things
Had a good look round- apparently THP exhaust narrows to 50mm in places
Showed me the tailpipes and showed me backbox and how fitted -Backbox no welds
Premium grade stainless steel, recommended 57mm throughout from flex pipe outta manifold
Said would get good gains, and said the noise would change without the centre silencer, but that as its turbo dont get loud
Told him bout BACKSTUCK- he then showed me the Bastuck 63mm size pipe WOW- How fats that- looks like a scaffold pole
We got to price and he quoted £300 less than BACKSTUCK!
Oh what to do? Just the sound that makes me uncertain if you dont get much of a sporty sound?
Will give myself a few days to think and research
Bit of a believer you get what you pay for CBLUE
As I've said a million times on this forum when you buy an expensive branded exhaust your just paying for the name. Custom ones are much better, cheaper and usually last longer !
There's videos of THP's on youtube with just straight pipes fitted ( One singular pipe from front to rear without silencers [ What I've got on mine ] ) and no there isn't really a massive difference in sound. You get a deeper, louder sound but nothing extreme - which I think is best.
totally random, but i see you said about db levels from the exhaust.
I broke one of the brackets on my old saxos exhaust once, because of how lower it was i couldnt fix it on the side of the road. so i pulled the half way cat back section and back box totally off.
I had to drive it to college and back for a week after.
The db level was constantly 112 dbs and if i revved it hard it went to 120dbs. I couldnt drive the car for more than 30 mins or i got a bad headache!
Sounds quality tho on a rack tuned saxo ( i'm not a chav btw haha )

Yeah i know you have said it a million times ZACK (Thats why I went to see what i get, and get a quote so thanks- it helped)
The BASTUCK is bigger diameter, and the tone is what I want
So a decision has to be made- get what is wanted or compromise
BTW- When you get a new exhaust- do they give you the one they take off? CBLUE
If you want it they will give it to you, Why cant they just fabricate an 63mm exhaust? custom manufacturer should be able to make just about anything for you and it will still be cheaper than a big brand.
Ha beat me to it Fish

Well- my compromise would be the tone, and diameter- spose could always upgrade later- and might like whats fitted
They only do one type of backbox, but its a straight through system rather than the stock exhaust twists and turns through the back box
Thats why its POWERFLOW- exhaust goes straight through (As mech explained) CBLUE

Any particular reason you're going with a big brand manufacturer over what most others have recommended?
Take your point CYCLONE- Mech explained that 63mm wouldnt achieve anything better than 57mm and would cost more, (Closer to Bastuck obviously) but he said the tone would be different. And I like the BASTUCK tone as said. And if I have the car years its best to have what I like isnt it
FISH- I havent gone with any big brand manufacturer yet!!! Thats why Im discussing the topic on a discussion forum!
Obviously saving £300 is very tempting. There are also as many people on here going for big manufacturers as well- Supersprint, BASTUCK, Miltek, Remus etc etc
Also I am not a sheep-----BAAAAAAAA:redface: Why just blindly do what others do?
I must say that all the discussion does help, so appreciate all comments positive or negative. CBLUE

It's called a consensus. What seems to be happening is 99% of people are telling you it's Tuesday but you're still looking for other people out there who think it's Sunday.
Exhausts are really personal taste, everyone has a specific noise they want so there's no point pushing your ideal exhaust noise on someone else as their taste is different. I'm dead awkward with it which is why my guys are having a job getting what I want.
All big pipe no back box straight through exhausts remind me of are corsas and micras but that's just me, that's what my head associates them with... Everyone's taste is different.
