Yes Czar...odd how the same gear box but with 9 more BHP and 38 more lb of torque couldn't beat a cooper S- peculiar that eh?
You do talk bollocks at times mate- perhaps your horsepower should be left thought about as your signature suggests. Seen some of your shitty little remarks on others posts- not really appreciated there mate- nobody likes someone who likes to deliberately try and rain on people's parade by talking utter bollocks...troll elswhere
You also have to remember that the actual BHP of the THP is not 155 or 156 as some sites say.
The actual bhp is 156bhp, I would suggest that the rolling road where you had your map done is incorrectly callibrated, also, they probably don't know about the DS3 THP only having 6% transmission loss (notice how when trying to use the gears to slow you down has little effect?) The fact they tried a BMW Mini Cooper S map on a PSA ECU should suggest something
At a guess i'd say your output now is approx 196bhp at the flywheel as the transmission losses/calibration isn't effected as much at that end. Also, the Cooper S is a much heavier car and would struggle against a stock THP.
Dave, this is the thing with the HP. I have been on literally hundreds of websites trying to get exact figures. 156,151,158,149 etc and the 148 quoted from wikipedia matches. WHy else would they get the torque reading be exact (also same on all sites) if the HP was off.
This is what's pissed me off somewhat trying to get info on the car- the values are different everywhere you look.
Same on the racing the review sites quote from 207 down to 197 with many just saying 200bhp.
Would be nice if the Dyno was off because it'd be nearer 200. Just damned annoying that everywhere you look you get different values. But since their Dyno rated the torque so exactly I have to believe it's calibrated.
I do think I will mention the 6% to them though, should make quite a difference to it... Cheers!
I would stick with what citroen publishes as the tq / hp figures for the DS3 which is 115 KW or 156ps or 154bhp. I think just the many ways of expressing power helps to confuse the issue. Every engine is going to be a little different some may give a bit more some a bit less. Same with dyno's you could run on 2 different ones with same variables programed in and get slightly different results. More important is the increase that was seen after the remap that is what you should be concentrating on.
BTW the mini uses a Getrag gearbox and PSA builds there own, in the thp a MCM/B gearbox

It's just weird and really shows the amount of wrong information out there on websites- just about everywhere says it's the same box with different ratios. The Citroen site is as elusive as many others especially for the ds3 r.
The gain is the gain, no matter what it started or finished at the HP is up by 44 and torque by 50. I just want to know for sure what the baselines actually are for my own sanity!!!!! lol
Think I may have to write a letter to all the sites with wrong information telling them!!! But then again surely that's what Citroen's PR firm should be doing? Making sure the correct information goes out in reviews?

Fish, just saw your post lol. He gets right up my nose him. Everywhere someone posts a mod he posts a shitty comment. Like that dutch lad who had a custom intercooler made- he immediately passed a shitty remark to try and make himself look good. Why do that when someone's dead proud of something and spent their hard earned cash on it? Horsepower Engineered by bullshit hehe. I think you're starting to notice my 0% tolerance on BS policy lol.
Look at the difference- Dave's seen some errors and he's pointed them out so I can pass the info on- and it's totally spot on, Dave knows his stuff and is always on the money. That Czar would just come up with some BS to make himself look good...why do people like that exist?
I may annoy you and others too, however my comments are not "shitty" they may seem "shitty" to you and others who are blissfully unaware of true facts, when what you and others read is beyond basic automotive comprehension, when in the case of "Fabian" and his intercooler my comments were based on what I saw from his images, based on my comprehensive knowledge, and not to dishearten "Fabian" as for you and others thinking I write bullshit to make myself "look good" I write/comment for the good, in order to promote some logical topical conversation, I try to help/educate through the forum, sadly it seems to no avail, apparently I write "bullshit" you know what they say, you can't educate pork!

How the hell is some dipstick like you going to educate me? Hmmmmmmm? I have an HND in Marine Engineering- that's right, big boy engineering, steam turbines, gas turbines, diesels- yes, everything including hydrodynamics, aerodynamics and mechanical engineering. Care to tell me about gearboxes??? Ever seen a gearbox downstaging 28,000RPM to 98RPM on a single thrust block??? Hmmmmmmm???? Care to educate me on that as well do you Czar???? Or maybe you;d like to tell me about turbo chargers and turbines in general? Yeah??? Ever seen a 150,000 SHP Steam Turbine system or worked on one?? Ever done the theory??? Ever looked at the large ABB turbo's used on ships??? Hmmmmmmm????
Don't come on here and make out you're something you aren't Czar- you ain't; and your pissy, hissy little comments show that!
Now bugger off before you embarrass yourself even more you friggin troll.
PS I also have a BA in Multimedia Design and Digital Animation, a BSc in Wireless Networking and Communication, I'm a MCSE, CCNA, CCNE, CompTIA A+ and Network+ and quite alot more matey boy. Gonna 'educate' ME in those as well are you???

All very well and good, I don't and never did claim to know anything about marine engineering, now you've got that off of you're chest, back to the subject in hand, now when it comes to the Automotive and Motorsport sectors, this really is my field of expertise, and not your's, now with you're engineer understanding and my knowledge we should be able to get on the same page, however, you really have got a dislike for me, so if you won't let me help you with you're basic automotive understanding with you're willingness for knowledge, then you're Big boy attitude towards me will get us nowhere, I can't help or educate some, but hey win some loose some.

Czar...how is the basics of engineering different between automotive and marine? care to elaborate mate? lol. A Marine Motor functions identically to a cars Motor although ALOT larger. The turbo chargers work identically- although ALOT larger. Injectors are much larger and at much higher pressures. You don;t have a fuel filter, you have a fuel purification room with centrifugal purifiers. We had to learn how to design engines, calculate turbine angles, calculate gearing ratios in case of failure etc etc etc. All that is loads different from automotive? Erm...NO. Ever lapped a 2 ton exhaust valve? Or checked ovality on 6 ton piston with 8m stroke?
Difference in automotive? They're smaller and more compact, the fundamentals are IDENTICAL and believe it or not the tolerances involved are almost identical so what's harder to do- get a 2 ton, 1 metre diameter exhaust valve to tolerance or one on a car?
I learn every day, that's what I enjoy about life but I learn from people who are imparting the correct knowledge- NOT BS

The fundamental engineering basics are no different, so no need to elaborate on that, maybe you should allow yourself and open up to the fact that sometimes it's best to read/listen when someone is trying to point out correct technical information, and not think to yourself, how can I "Czar" possibly teach you" Chiefnerd anything more about the Automotive performance sector, than you already know ? Carry on, oh I may not respond now for a while today, as I am off to another Automotive Motorsport meeting, in Germany, TTFN.

All worship the Czar- the god of all that is cars. Perhaps people would listen to you if you changed your god damn attitude and quit posting shitty little remarks?
