Hi Guys,
So.. After an early start this morning I took a trip down to Jamie over at http://www.sptuning.co.uk/. Lovely bloke.
Started off the day with a quick brew and then the job of dropping out the cat began. Jamie had to remove the boost pipes, heat shields, a bunch of bolts and a few sensors before we could get to the main task at hand so we were up and down on the ramp a few times.
Old cat
Heat shields removed, induction kit out and ready to remove the cat
Out with the old
In with the new
You can see the massive difference between the cat that Jamie provides and the standard one best in the picture above. At Low RPM (0-3000) you don't really pick up on it, all I can hear is the hum from my backbox but as soon as you go over this or 70mph you can really hear the gurgle and and grunt of the decat. I love it!
Cat in place, just needs the heatshields back in place
And finally, a quick video. I wouldn't recommend putting the volume up too high if you're listening through headphones. This run was just a quick one to ensure the car ran fine on the dyno, unfortunately you can't hear the car too well over the sound of the hovercraft propellor Jamie has running to keep the engine cool xD
Had to have a quick blast with the NOS also
Would I recommend doing this? Too fucking right! Give Jamie a call and get yourself one ordered.
Total fitting time should take you ~2/3hours including smoke/tea breaks if you're comfortable under the bonnet of a car.
