  • Mod ideas?

Hey I'm Chris. I just purchased a new DS3 DSport+ in black with a white roof earlier today. It should be arriving within 10-14 days.

I want to customise my DS3 and make it stand out. Where should I start? I already have some plans for the exterior. Maybe put a flame image on the roof with a black background and colour the mirrors and wheel centre caps. I'd also like to change the colour of the side/headlights and interior lighting to blue. Any suggestions for where to buy blue coloured bulbs that are legal?

    Thanks

You thinking just visual mods, or performance too?
I like the side decals personally, you can get several types
    Gotta be a new aerial:cool:
    Have fun

Performance too as long as it's not too advanced.. I'm a newbie :P
Yeah I really like the side decals, I saw the website recommend on here. And the dashboard one like in the DS3 racing. Why a new aerial?

First performance mod most people do is the air filter- straight swap. K&N or Pipercross get best write ups
Keep the original to put back in for services etc
Just 3 hex screws and pull old one out, and new one in
1.6BHP increase to mine, and its a lifelong filter (Its like a sponge rather than paper)

ED: New aerial? No particular reason really, just don't like OEM LOL

Is 1.6 increase going to be very noticeable? Is there a way to give it a louder, sportier sound like the DS3 racing?

Not really- but it all helps and the filter is lifetime so no need to pay for paper ones
Easiest way for a sportier sound is change the backbox, but no extra gain
Or fit sports exhaust with no mid resonator

Backboxes- A tuner on here had a Remus back box that he loved
Theres several full systems for the DS3 DSport - Mongoose, Milltek, Bastuck, Supersprint.
Just a bit of research on the web needed

To save a few quid you can go bespoke, get someone like Powerflex to bend you up an exhaust for any pipe size you can fit

No - because they ARE ALL illegal. You cannot have blue front lights.

A flame decal would definitely be unique.. I'm not sure how great it would look though.

RE: blue lights - You can find them on ebay quite easily just search for 501 canbus although you may find yourself getting an FPN as soon as the police spot them.

Best thing for thinking about what graphic to go for would be to use Google images, had a quick look for "flame decal" and there are loads of different styles and designs to choose.

Could also carbon fibre wrap the roof in any colour, white, black......

1.6BHP increase just from changing air filter, now that I didn't know
