Well the guy at Citroen said there's a type of chip that is undetectable. I don't know anything about these chips.. As you can probably guess lol. Does anyone else agree with lfcrule that there are no undetectable remaps?

If Citroen wanted to go out of there way to prove you'd had a remap it would be completely possible.

It's impossible to leave absolutely no signs of evidence.

It's very unlikely they would ever go to the effort to check. That's not to say they won't though.

As said already no remap is completely undetectable, even simple logging of injection quantities and boost pressure will tell you if a car is mapped already.
Most of the HDI ecu's need pulling apart to get at processor that holds the programming.

But the guy did say it could be undetectable. So I could always blame him right? Lol

If it were me I would do it cos I wanted it done and was prepared to live with the consequences (cancelled warranty etc) rather than trying to ensure that CUK accepted the remap, we know they won't if they detect it

also my friend used this company on his astra 1.9 diesel with amazing results!
Plug itin and you're done. No cutting wires, no changes to ECU.

Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

It's no doubt just a remap with a generic remap in it that messes around with some air and fuel ratio's without any real concern for what it's doing to the engine.

I'd personally stay well clear and suggest you spend a little bit more money and go with a reputable remapper.

Pretty sure the new diesels can't be remapped via OBD so not even sure this tuning box would work.

That's not to say the maps in use are tried and tested.

Those boxes are not really maps per say they just intercept and change the inputs to the ecu to try and trick it. THe ecu is still relying on the stock map and working hard to keep things the stock way and having a bad time of it because it is not seeing what it expects. They are not a well rounded full tuning solution. As Fish said would not touch it.

I'll take your advice on the box thing lol. I want a real remap.. What's the highest BHP I'm likely to get on my 115 HDI, which I believe has 110BHP? And where can I get one in swansea?

Your 115 should have 115 bhp hence the name my previous 110 eHDI had 115 stock which is why I think Citroen changed the name
