Seriously? Like always. If there is a defect / weak point, it might come up earlier than if not remapped.Citroën DS3 Racing 2011 Polar White

As well as the propensity to hasten any impending mechanical it can also affect your insurance and Citroen warranty, if you have one and your dealer discovers it.... Most times they are unlikely to but you should be aware that if a mechanical failure did occur and the dealer was minded to go over the car with a fine tooth comb it could become an issue.
On the plus side though they massively improve the drive if you have them done properly (by Jamie at SP Tuning)sigpic

In the absence of any DS3 having done say, 100k miles, one of the things that is known to go with higher temps associated with a remap is the OEM recirculation valve diaphragm.
With the turbo pumping out more boost that wont last as long as standard map, and obvs other internal engine parts may succumb quicker than with standard map. You don't get something for nothing usually. Most cars with the PCV system recommend an oil catch can system with a remap. All comment IMO obvs.
Feel free to correct me if you think I am wrong.sigpicJog on Noddy

The main benefit I have found is motorway driving the pull in 6th is miles better now 60-100 (not that I go that fast) is very impressive
Round the roads you waft along on the extra torque the map gives its really a better drive map more than out and out performance

I know that a re-mapped diesel is not the same as a petrol in terms of possible strain on an engine but just to add I have now done more than 60,000 miles since my diesel was re-mapped and the engine still seems to love the freedom the map gave it!
