  • DS3 biting point

Hi guys, I test drove a 2013 DS3 DSport today and it felt as though the biting point was very high, just wondering if this is normal for a DS3? Usually this is the sign of a worn clutch?

Thanks in advance, I hope I've opened this in the correct forum

Difficult to tell on a forum but mine isn't high, I have size 11 feet and it would annoy me to have a high clutch point... How many miles has it done ?

Thanks for the quick reply! Hmmmm well I've just been driving a Megane sport and the bite is very very low on that. May be making this seem unusually high. I'm not sure though, it's hard to tell

Unless the clutch has been hammered you wouldn't expect it to be high. Did you ask the dealer about it ?

Yeah he just said that all cars a different and it may seem high because of the current car I'm driving

Yeah that's true, did you notice any slippage on the clutch whilst driving ?

The bite point on my THP seems about right to me. I've driven the 120 though and that one seems a lot higher.

Maybe if the Megane had a low point this one just seems higher in comparison?

Forgive my stupidness but what does 'slippage' mean??

It's pretty normal for modern Citroen's to have a high bite point. My previous C4 and C5 both had high bite points, but nothing to worry about as my C4 had nearly 100k on the original clutch when I p/x'ed it.

Sorry the one I tested was actually THP 155....

but yeah the low megane point may be making it feel high

Slippage, maybe the wrong term but if you push the accelerator down does the car respond as it should or do the revs increase before you feel the clutch bite and the acceleration follows?

I'll give it another test tomorrow and look out for this! Thanks

I noticed this as well when I first drove mine. I'm used to it now, and the one I test drove before was the same as well.
