cruise control

i have a problem with my cruise control,when i apply it -it says on screen cruise control impossible,is there a way to reset it or something??

What gear were you in and what speed were you going?

From the owners guide: "In order to be programmed or activated, the vehicle speed must be higher than 25 mph (40 km/h), with at least fourth gear engaged on a manual gearbox (second gear on a SensoDrive or automatic gearbox)."

5th gear doing 60ish,thought there might be a button trick or something to do a reset or something as never used before.

Sounds like a sensor problem. The first thing I'd look at is the clutch switch.

I've had warnings when trying to apply at too low a speed but no other issues, as cyclone said check you have the selector switch in the right place (on mine I can use a speed limiter function as well, switches to both off and then again to Cruise).

If you still can't get it to work I'd ask the dealer to take a look

If the selector isn't set to "cruise" you won't get "cruise control impossible" warnings!

When you first go into cruise mode it will be paused - you have to use the buttons on the stalk then to un-pause it.

Took a short drive to the store and played around, only time I could get it to give any message at all it was the "cruise control impossible" but it also specified "speed to low". Every other situation tried there was no message just would not turn on. Looks like a dealer trip

I've only seen the 'speed to low' message on mine and as said above it was below the min required.

Mines frozen a few times. Ignition switched off sorted it, but would disconnect the battery for a bit if it hadnt

i switch the button to cruise it comes up on dash cruise pause-then i press button on stalk to unpause and i get cruise control impossible!!

also tried the limiter and it works,just cruise control problem.

I think you may need to set a speed first, use the buttons on the back of the cruise control / speed limiter stalk to set the speed.
